Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley

Campaign to Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley

Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley (BBBSLV), located on the Eastside of Allentown, PA, is a local affiliate of the national organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. BBBSLV is a two-county agency that expands opportunities for disadvantaged children in Lehigh and Northampton Counties by matching them with positive, qualified and trained mentors. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Presently, the agency manages (a) a community-based mentoring program, in which volunteer mentors (Bigs) over age 18 are matched with children (Littles) between the ages of 7 and 15 and meet two to four times per month (roughly eight hours per month total); and (b) 18 High School & College Bigs and Corporate mentoring programs throughout Lehigh and Northampton Counties, in which high school, college or corporate/adult mentors provide support to elementary school or middle school students for roughly one hour per week.
