Bowl for Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley’s largest annual fundraiser for kids. The money raised through this fundraiser will be used to support quality mentoring matches between caring adult volunteers and youth facing adversity in Lehigh Valley. Our goal for BFKS 2018 is $144,000 to help more than 500 children stay in school, graduate, build confidence, and achieve success in life. All the money you raise stays right here in the Lehigh Valley!

Your fundraising efforts helps Big Brothers Big Sisters create life changing friendships for people like Sophie and Carolyn:

“Big Brother Big Sisters has helped me through so much. I am so absolutely grateful and thankful for Carolyn. She truly is a big part of me. She’s been my escape since I was fairly young and even till this day. She truly means so much to me.”
– Little Sister Sophie

“One of the best parts about being a Big Sister is being able to see my little grow – both in years and maturity/wisdom. I love being someone she can talk to and confide in – just the times we spend talking are the most meaningful. That and she’s always up for anything so it’s fun to experience new things together.”
– Big Sister Carolyn

In Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley

As the oldest youth mentoring organization in the Lehigh Valley, BBBSLV has been serving the area since 1971 and in the past year we served 376 youth across all our mentoring programs. The mission of BBBSLV is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

BBBSLV operates several youth mentoring programs, including:

·       Sports Buddies:  This is the newest program being launched by BBBSLV in early summer 2023 and will deliver mentoring services to youth via the mechanism of sports.

·       Community Mentoring: Adult mentors (age 18+) are paired with youth mentees and engage in mentoring activities in the community where the youth live. Matches meet twice a month for at least one year, although the average match remains connected for three years.

·       Beyond School Walls:  In this virtual mentoring program, mentors from workplace partners, colleges, or universities, are paired with youth in grades 6-11.  Each month when they meet, they focus on discussing career readiness skills, or postsecondary education exploration.

·       High School Bigs:  High school students are mentors to elementary school students and focus on providing social-emotional support.

Littles2B: In this small group mentoring program, youth waiting to be paired with a mentor have a monthly opportunity to engage with a volunteer for the evening and experience a “Big for the Day.”
